Muskegon Community College picked up a 69-59 victory over the Hope College JV team in their first action after the Thanksgiving break.
After a slow start the Jayhawks were able to pick up the pace in the 2nd and 3rd quarters and build a 20 point lead. Hope was able to outscore the Jayhawks in the 4th but the ladies held on for the win. Delaney Bolles (Reeths-Puffer HS) finished with a double-double of 25 points and 15 boards. Yasmine Colon (Hart HS) chipped in with 17 points.
“Overall it was a good win, we had some good spurts,” said Head Coach Jason Cooper. “I was pleased with how we came out after only having one practice after Thanksgiving break. We will build off of this win to get ready for our next game.”
The Jayhawks are 4-1 for the season. They host Oakland Community College on Saturday, 12/1. Tip off is 1:00 pm.
