Muskegon Community College defeated Oakland Community College by a score of 68-51.
The Jayhawks had a slow start to the game but picked up the intensity shortly into the first quarter. They ended the first half with a 12 point lead. In the second half the Jayhawks attempted to push the ball more and remained strong on defense. Delaney Bolles (Reeths-Puffer HS) and Artrese Williams (Reeths-Puffer HS) were the top scorers, both putting in 17 points. Mariah Pringle (Brethren HS) and Tierra Williams (Muskegon HS) also contributed 9 points each.
“I’m very proud of our relentless hard play this game,” said Head Coach Jason Cooper. “A lot of people did a lot of extra things today to pull off this win.”
MCC is now 5-1 in the non-conference portion of their season. Next up is a trip to Alpena Community College for a 5:30 pm game with the Lumberjacks on Saturday, 12/8.
