Muskegon Community College opened the home portion of the 2018-2019 season with a convincing 81-51 victory over the Skippers of St. Clair County Community College.
The Jayhawks started the contest with lots of intensity allowing the team to pick up momentum throughout the game. Defense was a strenght and that led to fast-break opportunities. Delaney Bolles (Reeths-Puffer HS) led the Jayhawks with a double-double of 23 points and 11 boards. Also in double figure scoring for MCC were Artrese Williams (Reeths-Puffer HS) with 17 points and Mariah Pringle (Brethern HS) with 15.
“It was a great team win for us tonight,” said Head Coach Jason Cooper. “We got better as a team.”
The Jayhawks are 1-1. They return to action on Wednesday, 11/14 with a 5:30 pm contest at Calvin College.
