The Muskegon Community College Jayhawk women’s soccer team earned a victory at St. Clair County Community College, 4-1.
Sammy Hecht (Zeeland West HS) provided the offensive fire power with 3 goals in the contest; one in the 14th minute that was assisted by Nora Brown (Mona Shores HS) and Kendal Hoppa (North Muskegon HS), one in the 81st minute that was assisted by Lia Maggini (Zeeland East HS) and one in the 89th minute assisted by Ryle Camp (Coopersville HS) and Ellie Adams (Thornapple Kellogg HS). MCC also got an impressive goal off a direct kick by Adams from 35 yards out.
Defensively Lexi Bolles (Reeths-Puffer HS), Alexa Musk (Mona Shores HS), Jenna Lowry (Oakridge HS) and Maggie Holmes (Spring Lake HS) all had strong games, limiting to St. Clair CCC to only 3 shots in the game. St. Clair’s lone goal came off a penalty kick in the 78th minute.
MCC is now 3-1 on the season. They return home to Orchard View High School on Wednesday, 5/12 for a contest with Ancilla College. Game time is scheduled for 4:00 pm.
