Golf at Kirtland Community College
The Jayhawk Golf team shot 322 at the Kirtland Community College Invitational at the Grayling Country Club, led by Ben Zwick (Ludington) and Mitch Taylor (Mona Shores) who each shot 76. Nathan McNarland (Mona Shores) and Dyllen Bazzett (Newaygo) both shot 85 and Ross Sanford (Muskegon Catholic Central) shot 87. They are back in action on Friday, 9/29 when they travel to compete in the Delta College Invite at Bay Valley Golf Club.
Volleyball Home vs. Alpena Community College
The Jayhawk Volleyball team hosted Alpena Community College in an MCCAA North match-up and MCC came away with a 3-0 win. Set scores were 25-11, 25-16, 25-15. Men’s Soccer at Aquinas College (originally scheduled for 9/23)
The Jayhawk Men’s Soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Aquinas College. MCC is now 2-2-1 in conference play and 3-3-1 overall. They travel to Jackson College on Saturday, 9/30 with kick off at 3:00 pm.

The Jayhawk Women’s Soccer team suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of the St. Clair County Community College Skippers. MCC maintained possession and created opportunities, but could not finish while the Skippers capitalized on counter attacks. Isabella Cifuentes (Zeeland West) controlled much of the game while midfielders Emma Peterson (Montague), Brooke Bradley (Reeths-Puffer), and Lydia Sowles (Mona Shores) showed their work ethic in possession and distribution. The Women’s Soccer team struggled to score as they lost another tough contest to the Bruins from Kellogg Community College by a score of 2-0. MCC dominated control and possession with Tia Martinez (Zeeland West) and Lydia Sowles (Mona Shores) creating opportunities that were not converted. Cross Country at SC4 Invitational
The Jayhawk Cross Country Team traveled to Port Huron to compete in the St. Clair County Community College Invitational. On a wet and muddy course the Jayhawks competed against a crowded field of 18 teams. Average times were about 45 seconds to 1 minute slower than usual.
