Comerica Bank sponsored six Muskegon Community College business students to attend the Muskegon Lakeshore Chamber of Commerce’s “Business for Breakfast” on Sept. 24 at the Delta Hotels by Marriott in downtown Muskegon.

“This event was part of an ongoing relationship between the Lakeshore Chamber of Commerce and my business classes,” said MCC instructor Christopher VanOosterhout. “Another group will be attending a similar event this month focused on community art, outdoor activities and their relationship with business in Muskegon.”

The students, who networked with Chamber members, learned about the future of transportation on the Muskegon Lakeshore and specifically how the Muskegon County Airport, the Lake Express and Consumers Energy are paving the way for more efficient and greener modes of transportation.

“At the chamber we see this as a workforce development program,” explained Chamber President Cindy Larsen.  “Being able to see business and community leaders in action teaches professionalism and opens up the mind to the many career opportunities that are available here and in their own hometown.”
