Continuing Education

Muskegon Community College’s Continuing Education department is the perfect place to develop and enhance your curiosity into new skills. We offer a variety of classes to members of our community. Classes are non-credit courses, yet the skills you will learn will be priceless.


MCC Pitch Competition 

When: Wednesday, April 17th, 2024

Where: 221 S. Quarterline Rd. Muskegon, MI 49442 – Room 1300

Time: 6:00pm-8pm

Who: Current MCC Students (registered for the winter semester), must be at least 18 years old

MCC STEM Summer Camp “all call for instructors”

When: July 8th-11th and July 15th-18th 2024

Where: 388 W. Clay Ave Muskegon, MI 49440 – Sturrus Technology Center

Time: 9am-12pm and 1pm-4pm

Who: All call for potential summer camp instructors

We are thrilled to announce that Muskegon Community College will be hosting a MCC STEM Summer Camp. We are looking for people that are interested in teaching STEM related classes to kids 1st-8th grade. The stipend for each class taught is $450. *You do not have to be a licensed teacher to qualify to teach a class(es).*

Basic Excel Training

When: March 26 – April 16th, 2024 (Tuesdays)

Where: Muskegon Community College, 221 S. Quarterline Rd. Muskegon, MI 49442

Time: 5:00pm – 6:00pm

Cost: $60.00

During this 4 week training, participants will gain knowledge surrounding navigating, manipulating, and creating worksheets and workbooks.  Topics will include: formulas, functions, data entry, cell formatting, charts, etc. This course is being taught by Sarah Pearson.

Implicit Bias Training 

When: Tuesday, March 19, 2024

Where: Sturrus Technology Center, 388 W. Clay Ave. Muskegon, MI 49440

Time: 8:00am

Cost: $50.00

This session will help organizations build a better cultural workplace. All attendees will learn the following of Implicit Bias:

  • Evolution of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging
  • Impact of first impressions
  • Define Implicit Bias and understand the different bias types
  • Understand where biases originate
  • Understand how the unconscious mind works
  • Tips for countering Implicit Bias

For Michigan healthcare professionals, this training fulfills the State of Michigan requirements for Implicit Bias training. All participants will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the course.

Inclusive Leadership Academy

Cost: $100.00

Have you ever had an opinion about the decisions made that effect your community? Do you have ideas of how things could be done differently? Are you unsure as to how you might be able to make sure your voice is heard beyond your friend group? If yes was your answer to any of these questions, you would greatly benefit from this training. Here, you will learn how to function in decision making roles on boards and committees in your community, and how to put your good ideas to practice to impart the change you wish to see!

Whether intentional or unintentional, microaggressions feed into stereotypes and stigmatizations of gender, race, orientation, religion, or other marginalized groups.

  • The harmful impacts that result
  • Steps to speak up
