‘All MCC Holiday Celebration’ at Frauenthal Theater Dec. 10

The Downtown Live Concert Series continues with the “All MCC Holiday Celebration,” featuring the College’s Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, Collegiates and College Singers, in performance on Monday, Dec. 10, in the Frauenthal Theater, 425 W. Western Ave.

Directed by Daniel M. Meyers, the Wind Ensemble will perform five selections:

  • “Bashana Haba ‘Ah” by Ehud Manor, Nurit Hirsh, arranged by Lloyd Conley
  • “Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24” by Paul O’Neill, Robert Kinkel, arranged by Bob Phillips, George Megaw
  • “A Charlie Brown Christmas” by Paul Murtha
  • “All is Calm,” traditional, arranged by Robert W. Smith
  • “African Holy Night” arranged by Robert W. Smith

The Collegiates, directed by Nicholas Palmer, will sing:

  • “Glow” by Eric Whitacre
  • “African Noel” arranged by Andre Thomas

Directed by Patrick Parrish, the Jazz Ensemble will play three selections:

  • “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” by Frank Loesser, arranged by Rock Stitzel
  • “White Christmas” by Irving Berlin, arranged by Mark Taylor
  • “Hot Chocolate” by Glen Ballard and Alan Silvestri, arranged by Mike Lewis (from the movie “Polar Express”)

The College Singers, directed by Nicholas Palmer, will perform:

  • “Jingle Bells Festivo” by James Pierpont, arranged by Sherri Porterfield
  • “The Wexford Carol” English Traditional
  • “We Wish You a Merry Christmas,” traditional, arranged by John Rutter
