A groundbreaking ceremony for Muskegon Community College’s new Science Center will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 3, at noon in the Stevenson Center courtyard on campus. A high point of the year for the MCC Arts and Humanities Department, the Student Art and Design Exhibition celebrates its golden anniversary this year. The best of the exceptional artwork created by MCC’s art and graphic design students over the past academic year is on display in Overbrook Art Gallery through Sept. 10.

The Foundation for Muskegon Community College 2014 Jayhawk Scramble on June 13 at University Park Golf Course raised $12,850 for MCC scholarships thanks to generous and enthusiastic sponsors, benefactors and participants. Award winners chosen from entries in the 50th Annual Juried MCC Student Art and Design Exhibition will be announced during a special reception on Thursday evening, June 5, on campus. Free and open to the public, a reception takes place from 5-6:30 p.m. in the Overbrook Lobby and Gallery. The cash awards and the President’s Purchase Award winners will be announced at 5:30 p.m. in Overbrook Theater.
