2019 ahFest Film Fest: “The Mustang”

On Wednesday evenings throughout October, the 2019 Muskegon Writers’ Series will show and discuss five films associated with “Hope,” the 2019 Muskegon Arts and Humanities Festival (ahFest) theme this year.

All the films will be shown at the Muskegon Museum of Art, 296 W Webster Ave. in downtown Muskegon. Admission is free. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and each film will promptly begin at 6 p.m. with a brief introduction by MCC English and Film instructor Mary Tyler. An optional discussion led by Tyler will follow each film.

October 23The Mustang, a 2019 film by Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre, is the story of Roman Coleman (Matthias Schoenaerts), a violent convict, who is given the chance to participate in a rehabilitation therapy program involving the training of wild mustangs. Jason Mitchell, Gideon Adlon, Connie Britton and Bruce Dern appear in supporting roles. The Mustang is based on an actual rehabilitation program in Carson City, Nevada.
