Mathematics in the Insurance Industry

Steve Privasky, ARM, LIC, a Muskegon Community College alumnus, will discuss “Using Math to Assess Risk and Serve Society” on Friday, Oct. 19, at 2 p.m. in Stevenson Center Room 1200.

The talk, which is being organized by the Math and Physical Sciences Department, is free and open to the public.

Privasky, who earned a degree in financial mathematics from the University of Michigan, is a program manager at SET SEG. The non-profit company was created in 1971 to offer schools comprehensive and affordable employee benefit solutions for Michigan public schools and their employees.

He will address using math in the insurance industry and his educational path toward achieving that goal. A question-and-answer period will follow his presentation.
