“Love In Action was created to recognize and celebrate area unsung heroes who give of themselves unselfishly and show love and kindness throughout the year,” explained Mary Ann Williams, the MCC Continuing Education coordinator who oversees the Love in Action Awards activities. “Recipients are nominated by their peers. These nominees could be from church affiliates, agencies, organizations or from other individuals.”

The 2017 Love in Action Award recipients are Shelinda Knight-Davenport, Robert Lee Dowson, Jeanette Foster, Kimi George, Erma Gordon Starr-Gibson, Eleanor Harris, Charles and Bobbie Johnson, Joe Louis Lane II, Sharri Lane, Pastor Phil and Michelle McClain, Lenora Turner-Terry, Linda C. Traylor, and Mary Ann Wells.

The event, which is organized by the MCC Community Outreach Office, is supported by the MCC Office of the President and MCC Alumni Relations Office.
