Muskegon Community College will celebrate 2015 International Education Week with two free events on Wednesday and Thursday, Nov. 18-19.

Held annually in November, International Education Week provides an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. This joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education is part of MCC’s efforts to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences in the U.S.

  • On Nov. 18, “Study Abroad: Student Reports from Belize and Germany” takes place in Collegiate Hall from noon to 2 p.m. Participants from last year’s MCC programs in Belize and Germany will be on hand to talk about their experiences. They will also discuss the application process, travel costs, itineraries, course credits, and answer any questions. Cookies will be provided.
  • On Nov. 19, an International Student Panel Discussion – featuring current MCC students from Brazil, Vietnam, France and Zimbabwe – will be held from 6:15-7:15 p.m. in the Blue and Gold Room. The panelists will provide insights into their respective homelands. MCC Geography Instructor Michael Gutowsky will be the moderator. A number of ethnic culinary treats will be served beginning at 6 p.m.
