MCC Center for Theater Presents “Young Frankenstein” on Oct. 28-31

The Muskegon Community College Center for Theater will present a musical adaption of Mel Brooks’ 1974 film “Young Frankenstein,” a parody of the classic horror film genre, in the Overbrook Theater on Oct. 28-31.

The show, which is recommended for ages 12 and older, is part of 2021 ahFest theme of “Brains and Beauty.”

Performances are at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Oct. 28, 29 and 30, and at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 31. Tickets are $10 for the public and $5 for MCC students and employees.

The Young Frankenstein cast includes Thomas Hammersley as Fredrich Frankenstein, Luke Lewis as The Monster, Seth Norman as Igor, Julia Uganski as Inga, Rikki Ridout as Elizabeth Benning, Ashley Erdman as Frau Blucher, Tom Bitson as Inspector Hans Kemp, and Spencer Klairter as both The Hermit and Victor Von Frankenstein. The ensemble also includes Alison Mastee, Annmarie Santos, Ashley Poling, Jakari Carson, Lee Ann Lawie and Medina Averill.

The play is directed by Sheila Wahamaki with help from student assistant directors Stan Shank and Ashton Bahr. Shank is also the stage manager. Other creative team members include music director Janie Glerum, vocal coach Heather McCallum, choreographer Jacqui Robinson, sound effects and projection designer Les Rorick, sound designer Mike Council, costume designer Susan Eyler, hair and makeup designer Bill Abbott, construction designer Trent Klairter and scenic painter Brian Goodman.
