The 5% increase is below the statewide average tuition increase (5.8%) for all Michigan community colleges in 2011-12. Meanwhile, MCC’s tuition rate of $85.50 per contact hour is one of the most affordable among Michigan’s 28 community colleges.
The 2012-13 rates approved by the MCC also included a 7% hike for out-of-district students to $153 per contact hour and a 7% increase for out-of-state students to $210 per contact hour. The technology fee increased 25% to $10 per student.
