MCC Selects New Top Leaders for Finance, Foundation

Muskegon Community College (MCC) President Dale K. Nesbary announced Wednesday, August 18, the hiring of Beth Dick as Vice President of Finance & Chief Financial Officer and Teresa Newmarch as Chief Advancement Officer (CAO).

MCC President Dale Nesbary said the College is fortunate to have attracted such tremendous talent. “Both of these leaders will work in outstanding ways to positively impact the financial future of the College and Foundation. Our future is bright.” Nesbary added.

Dick is returning to MCC from her current position as Director of Finance/Assistant County Administrator for the County of Muskegon. She began her position with the County in 2015 following four years as the Director of Finance for MCC. With extensive knowledge and experience, Dick has directed the preparation and administration of budgets for large organizations, strategically managed financial assets, and provided oversight of sound policies and operations. In her role she will provide financial leadership to the campus community, collaborate to accomplish strategic priorities, and supervise all accounting and financial services functions. Dick will work closely with the College president, board, and other leaders including Newmarch as CAO.

Dick said she is looking forward to rejoining the team at MCC. “I find working in higher education to be interesting and rewarding. With my prior experience, I plan to hit the ground running given my familiarity with the financial systems and staff,” Dick added.

Newmarch is currently the Director of Development for Covenant House Michigan and has served as Chief Development Officer for Blandford Nature Center, Executive Director of the Pine Rest Foundation in Grand Rapids, and Executive Director of Development for Kalamazoo College. She has a wide range of experience leading, managing, and implementing fundraising for local, state, and world-wide organizations. Newmarch has been highly successful in leading teams to cultivate relationships that connect donors with meaningful giving opportunities. As Chief Advancement Officer, she will develop and implement the annual Fund Development Plan and provide oversight and administration of fundraising including establishing endowments.

“I am delighted with this opportunity and I am eager to connect my work to Muskegon Community College’s vision of an educated, inclusive community. When donor interests are matched with the needs of the College community, we all win,” said Newmarch.
