The public is invited to hear students in Mary Tyler’s Poetry Writing Seminar class read their original works on Wednesday, April 27, in Overbrook Theater. The free event, which is being held during National Poetry Month, runs from 10:10-11:35 a.m. Snacks will be served.
“It’s one of the most talented poetry classes I’ve ever had,” said Tyler, who has been teaching English at MCC for more than 30 years. “These students are going to read some amazing works aloud. You’re going to hear 12 different voices – brave, funny, sad, lovely. It’s all original poetry.”
The student poets are Tom Bitson, Emily Bramer, Gabby Deno, Lena Johnson, Carter Jones-Hirr, Candice Kirkendoll, Nena Sipos, Samantha Slayton, Taylor Strand, Robby Swanker, and Gracie Vermurlen.
