MCC Wind and Jazz Ensembles to Perform Oct. 13

The Muskegon Community College Wind and Jazz Ensembles under the direction of Daniel M. Meyers will perform on Wednesday, Oct. 13, at 7 p.m. at the Central United Methodist Church, 1011 Second Street, in Muskegon.

There is no charge to attend the concert, but free will donations are appreciated.

The Wind Ensemble will be performing three pieces: “Heatherwood Portrait,” by James Barnes, Arr. by Clarence E. Barber; “Yorkshire Ballad,” by James Barnes, Arr. by Clarence E. Barber; and “Second Suite In F,” by Gustav Holst, Edited by Colin Matthews.

The Jazz Ensemble will perform four selections: “Land of Make Believe,” by Chuck Mangione, Arr. by Mike Story: “If I Could Fly,” by Mike Smukal; “Blue Skies,” by Irving Berlin, Arr. by Mark Taylor; and “‘Round Midnight,” by Cootie Williams and Thelonius Monk, Arr. by Rick Hirsh.
