An interactive videoconference discussion on nanotechnology composites with University of Notre Dame College of Engineering faculty member Dr. Tengfei Luo will take place on Friday, March 22, at the Sturrus Technology Center, 388 W. Clay, in downtown Muskegon.

The event, which is free and open to the public, begins at 9:45 a.m. in Room 226 and is co-sponsored by the Muskegon Think Tank and Muskegon Community College.

An associate professor in the Department of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering, Luo is also a Principal Investigator at the Molecular-level Energy and Mass Transport Laboratory. He joined Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering in 2012 as an assistant professor after finishing his postdoctoral research at MIT. He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University and B.S. in Energy and Power Engineering from Xi’an Jiaotong University.

Luo’s research focuses on understanding fundamentals of nanoscale heat and mass transfer using computational and experimental techniques and applying the knowledge to the fields of renewable energy, microelectronics thermal management and water treatment.
