Online Auction of MCC Expansion and Acquisition Items Set for Feb. 16

Muskegon Community College will hold an online auction on Feb 16 to sell more than 80,000 square feet of items generated during its recent remodeling of existing campus spaces and its acquisition of downtown facilities.

The MCC Physical Plant has contracted with Orbitbid.Com of Byron Center, MI, which will use its internet auction technology to globally sell the surplus equipment and materials currently located at the MCC Downtown Center. There are no pre-sales, but the items may be viewed in advance online at http://www.orbitbid.com/

“Our surplus sales used to be held annually and were relatively small,” explained Gerald Nylund, the MCC Physical Plant Director. “The last three years they were not held because we just didn’t get enough equipment to justify it. But with the redesign of the biology, chemistry and physics areas, we generated a lot of surplus equipment. Plus, with the purchase of the Chronicle Building, the Masonic Temple and the Lakeshore Fitness Center, we now have over 80,000 square feet of surplus items ranging from $5 and up.”
