The MCC Motorsports Club’s electric dragster, “Short Circuit,” established an unofficial world record in the DR-G 96-volt class on Sept. 16 at the Mid-Michigan Motorplex quarter-mile track in Stanton, MI. It was the second world mark in as many years for the student-built vehicle.

Muskegon Community College, as part of the national Credentials to Careers coalition led by Northern Virginia Community College, will receive an expected $500,000 grant to implement a new CAD/CNC program for use by local employers, Anderson Global and Alcoa Howmet.

The Muskegon Community College Overbrook Players will present their first show of the season, The Adding Machine, Elmer Rice’s groundbreaking 1923 expressionistic satire of the dehumanizing effect of industrial capitalism on Oct. 17-21 in the Overbrook Theater. Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday through Saturday, with Sunday’s matinee beginning at 3 p.m. Tickets are $5 for MCC students and staff and $10 for the general public.
