U.S. Senator Peters Tours MCC’s Sturrus Technology Center

U.S. Senator Gary Peters visited the Muskegon Community College Sturrus Technology Center on Monday, May 3, as part of his City of Muskegon tour focusing on downtown redevelopment.

Sen. Peters visits the Welding Lab inside the Sturrus Technology Center.

He toured the facility learning firsthand about the community opportunities available at the Lakeshore Fab Lab and through courses offered in MCC’s Applied Technology Department.

Administrators explained the College’s push to help prepare local manufacturers for Industry 4.0, including a focus on robotics and automation, as the region rebounds from COVID-19.

The senator was informed about recent grant announcements that will strengthen the MCC’s healthcare and manufacturing programs as the part of the federal government’s bid to re-energize the economy.
