The MiTransfer Pathway Associate in Science and Arts (ASA) degree includes the Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA) and is designed for students who plan to transfer to a four-year college or university and major in a particular discipline.
A minimum of 62 credit hours with a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA, is required for the ASA Degree. MCC and the Michigan Transfer Agreement require a “C” or better in individual courses used to meet ASA and MTA requirements. These courses are shown in bold type below. Courses numbered below 100 do not count toward the ASA. Any course can be used only ONCE in any category.
General Education Requirements (Minimum – 35 credits) |
Communication – 6 credits with grades of “C” or better English – 101, 102 Science – 6 credits with grades of “C” or better. Courses must be in two or more disciplines (subjects). Must include at least one lab science BIOL 152L&L Lab classes: Non-Lab: Math – 3 credits with grades of “C” or better Ethics and Logic – 3 credits with grades of “C” or better Social Relationships – 3 credits with grades of “C” or better Western Culture -3 credits with grades of “C” or better American Culture – 3 credits with grades of “C” or better International Culture – 3 credits with grades of “C” or better Aesthetic Values – 3 credits Music Classes numbered 100 and above except Music 240 Music – 100, 101, 102, 103A, 192, 193A, 194, 195, 201, 202 Physical Education and Health – minimum 2 credits. Choose ONE of the following options: Option 1: PEA 101A, 103, 104A, 118, 201 and choose ONE PEA or Dance course MCC and the MTA require a “C” or better in courses used to meet ASA and MTA requirements, which are noted on this guide.
