High School Senior Application Countdown

Welcome high school seniors! The following steps will help prepare you for entering Muskegon Community College next fall.  Most, if not all, high schools graduation dates will not be before the next summer semester starts.  Therefore, you will need to either apply for the upcoming fall semester or complete the Dual Enrollment process for the summer semester.

So, you have finally reached your senior year of high school!   The next six months will go fast, you will be confronting many new situations and will need to make some key decisions regarding your college plans.  The Admissions office has compiled a handy checklist with some key dates and activities which you will need to be aware of before attending Muskegon Community College.

We urge you to look at the list below and start taking positive steps to make sure that your transition from high school to MCC is a smooth and hassle-free experience.  The Admissions office looks forward to helping you with the admissions process. August
September
  • Check with your high school Counselor or College Advisor for dates and times that a MCC Recruiter will be visiting your high school.
October
November
  • Visit MCC for College Visit Days. Check with your High School Counselor or College Advisor for dates.
  • Enjoy Thanksgiving break!
December
January
  • Ensure that your financial aid and admissions files are complete! Review your Student Aid Report (SAR) to make sure the data is correct.
  • If you haven’t done so already, don’t forget…Student Orientation.  It’s mandatory for students. This is one of the most important things you will attend.
February
April
  • Senior Visit Days start; seniors will complete testing, counseling, registration and orientation in the same day.
  • Fall registration will open at the end of April.  Stay focused- This is no time for “Senioritis” to set in.  Don’t wait to register or you may not get the courses you want!  The Counseling Office will help you determine your academic plan if needed.
May
  • Continuation of Senior Visit Days. If you haven’t already registered for Fall classes, Don’t wait…classes will be filling fast.
June
  • Again, remember you should attend Student Orientation. This is one of the most important things you will attend next to your high school graduation.
