MCC Nursing Program Boasts 100% NCLEX Pass Rate

Wednesday, July 16, 2025

Muskegon Community College Nursing graduates have once again topped state and national averages this year, as MCC has announced that 100 percent of MCC Nursing students passed the RN licensing exam on their first try.

The NCLEX, or (National Council Licensure Examination) is a standardized exam that nurses must pass to obtain a license to practice nursing in the United States and is administered by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN).

In total, MCC had 38 Registered Nurse (RN) candidates, and 19 Practical Nurse candidates take the exam, with all 57 passing on their first try.

Lisa Gatti-Arnold, Dean of Nursing and Health Programs at MCC, attributed the results to her instructors’ expertise, dedication, and efforts.

“Our region has a serious need for qualified nurses, and MCC plays a key role in meeting that demand,” Gatti-Arnold said. “We are not simply feeding the talent pipeline, we are producing highly trained and highly qualified nurses who are ready to enter the health care industry the moment they leave our doors. And these test results are a direct reflection of that.”

Offering a range of high-quality and affordable careers, MCC prepares health care workers with the professional knowledge and skills to provide safe patient care in a variety of healthcare settings.
