Ranked Choice Voting

Join Dr. Michael Dirksen for a conversation about Ranked-Choice-Voting, (RCV) and how to get this initiative on the Michigan ballot.

What is ranked choice voting?

RCV is a voting method where people vote for candidates in order of their preference. This allows those at the ballot box to ‘rank’ their vote – first choice, second choice, and third choice.

Supporters argue this method allows votes to count toward another candidate if a first choice candidate loses. If a first choice candidate is eliminated, a vote is moved to the second choice.

Dr. Dirksen’s presentation will be roughly 45 minutes, with 15 minutes for Q&A.
