Muskegon Community College has been awarded a Global Silver Telly Award in the general college/ university category for its Bring It Out television commercial, earning international recognition in one of the world’s most prestigious competitions honoring excellence in video and television production.
The Telly Awards is the premier global competition recognizing outstanding video and television content across all screens. Each year, nearly 13,000 entries are submitted by advertising agencies, television networks, production companies, educational institutions, and creative professionals from around the world. Colleges and universities compete in categories recognizing excellence in storytelling, marketing, and promotional communications.
Written, recorded, and produced by MCC’s Marketing and Communications team, the commercial featured the song I Can’t Help but Feel by the band Surfaces. It highlighted the energy, diversity, and opportunities available at the college. Rather than using professional actors, the production showcased actual Muskegon Community College students, creating an authentic representation of the campus experience.
“It’s an honor to receive a Silver Telly Award and be recognized alongside so many talented creators from around the world,” said Jon Mills, MCC videographer and producer of the commercial.
“What really made this project special was that we used actual enrolled MCC students as the faces of the campaign. Their experiences, personalities, and enthusiasm brought an authenticity to the commercial that simply can’t be manufactured, and I think that’s what resonated with audiences.”
The international recognition reflects MCC’s ongoing commitment to telling authentic stories that connect prospective students and the community with the people and experiences that make the college unique. By highlighting real students and real experiences, the award-winning commercial captures the welcoming environment and educational opportunities that have defined Muskegon Community College for nearly a century.
Muskegon Community College is celebrating 100 years of providing high-quality, affordable education and workforce training that strengthens the region. Offering over 70 degrees and certificates, MCC remains committed to student success.
