MCC Operating Millage Restoration Vote
If you are a resident of Muskegon County, make sure you vote August 4, 2026!
Muskegon Community College’s operating millage restoration proposal asks voters to approve 0.2980 additional mills for 30 years to restore MCC’s operating millage rate to the 2.4 mills originally approved by voters in 1993.
The proposal comes after decades of reductions caused by the Headlee Amendment, which lowers millage rates when property values increase faster than inflation. As a result, MCC’s operating millage has been reduced to 2.1020 mills.
Restoring the rate to its original level would generate approximately $2.1 million annually to support the college’s operations and facilities.
