MCC on Tap: Knowledge as (Political) Power

For this installment, Dr. Rei Gordon, Professor of Political Science at Muskegon Community College, will explore the idea that while we often hear the phrase “knowledge is power,” knowledge is also political. Dr. Gordon will discuss how what we “know” is constructed and influenced by our political world.
With the increasing use of artificial intelligence, examining what we consider to be “objective information” is especially timely and important. Dr. Gordon holds a Ph.D. in political science from Western Michigan University, and their research critiques the concept of objectivity in public opinion surveys in sub-Saharan Africa.
