MCC Lecture Series Presents: PECHA KUCHA
Muskegon Community College Lecture Series continues Wednesday, January 29 at 6:00 PM with “Pecha Kucha.”
The event is free and open to the public.
A Japanese term meaning “chit-chat,” Pecha Kucha is a storytelling format where presenters share their narratives through 20 slides, each displayed for 20 seconds. This rapid-paced presentation style encourages speakers to “talk less,” and “show more,” fostering a more concise and impactful way of sharing one’s story.
Speakers are Diana Osborn, Chip Vander Wier, Dr. Tucker Brown, Chad Lawie, Dr. Alan Steinman, Richard McPherson, Jen Wakely, and Kiley Jackson.
Originally conceived in Tokyo in 2003 by architects Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham, Pecha Kucha Nights were originally designed as a platform for young artists to showcase their work, exchange ideas, and build a creative community. Over the years, this concept has transcended the design field, evolving into a global phenomenon embraced by various disciplines.
