Respiratory Therapy Week

MCC Recognizes Respiratory Care Week, Honoring the Professionals Who Help Patients Breathe

Muskegon Community College recognizes Respiratory Care Week, Oct. 25-31, celebrating the respiratory therapists who play a vital role in patient care and helping people breathe easier.

Sponsored by the American Association for Respiratory Care, this year’s theme, “Every Breath, Every Moment,” highlights the importance of respiratory therapists in caring for patients through some of life’s most challenging moments.

Respiratory therapists are essential members of health care teams, helping patients with conditions such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pneumonia and other illnesses that affect breathing. They provide treatments, manage ventilators, monitor lung function and support patients recovering from surgery, serious illness or injury. Their expertise can make a life-changing difference for patients of all ages, from newborns to older adults.

Respiratory Care Week also recognizes the dedication, knowledge and compassion these professionals bring to their work every day. As respiratory illnesses and chronic lung conditions affect millions of Americans, skilled respiratory therapists remain critical to patient recovery, long-term health and quality of life.

MCC joins health care organizations across the country in recognizing respiratory therapists and the meaningful contributions they make to patients, families and communities.
