The Muskegon Community College Golf Course is closed for the winter season. See you in the Spring!

Muskegon Community College Golf Course (MCCGC) is a public golf course owned by Muskegon Community College. Opened in 1968 and located across the street from the main campus, the nine-hole course was designed by Bruce Matthews and features two different tee-off areas to make for an interesting and challenging 18 holes of golf. Open seven days a week from April until November, MCCGC features a driving range and putting green.

Passholder Options – A couple is defined as two married people (this includes same-sex marriage) or a parent and legal dependent (typically child, stepchild, etc.) Family must live at the same address.

*To obtain a cart pass, you must be at least 16 years of age and have a valid driver’s license on file.

Join a Golf League or Plan an Outing

Numerous leagues, catering to every caliber of player, compete at MCCGC. Whatever your skill level, there is a league that will fit your style. Does your organization have a daytime traveling golf league? Are you planning an annual golf outing? If so, we offer:

  • a 9-hole course with three (3) tee off areas which makes for an interesting and challenging 18-holes of golf.
  • the ability to accommodate 40 golfers (10 foursomes with carts). We would require a minimum of 30 people in order to close the course for your event.
  • snack and beverage vending machines in the clubhouse.

Clubhouse Rules and Regulations

Clubs

All players must have their own set of golf clubs.

Carts

For groups of 2 or more, you must share a cart. All operators of the golf carts

must be a minimum of 16 years old with a valid driver license.

Course Play

No skipping around holes. No starting on alternate holes without clubhouse

permission.

No Refunds

The clubhouse is not permitted to give refunds. If you need a raincheck,

please ask the attendant.

Language and No Fighting

Use of abusive or obscene language, or any form of profanity; fighting,

intimidation, assault, battery or any form of threatening behavior; vandalism

or unwilful damage to property in the clubhouse or on the course by anyone

will not be tolerated. Offenders will be subject to prosecution by law.

Loss/Damaged Items

MCC shall not be liable for any loss of or damage to any article or property

brought into the clubhouse or on the course.

Valuables Unattended

MCC will not be responsible for any items left in the clubhouse or on the

course. Do not leave any valuables unattended in the clubhouse, on the

course, or in the carts.

Damages to MCCGC

Anyone that breaks, damages, defaces or abuses the property of the UPGC

shall pay the cost of the damage. Management shall assess the amount of

such cost and the decision shall be final.

Raking Bunkers

All players are required to rake the bunkers from the low side, retracing their

steps so as to disturb the surface as little as possible. Rakes are to be left with

the head of the rake in the bunker and approximately 1 foot of the handle

resting outside the bunker.

Ball Marks and Divot Repair

Every player must repair ball marks on the greens. All players are expected

to replace divots on teeing grounds when possible.

Range Balls

Range balls are not to be removed from the driving range area.

This position is responsible for maintaining a fun, welcoming, safe, secure, clean, and orderly golfing environment while assisting all teams within the department. The individual must be able to operate independently, demonstrate sound decision-making, follow appropriate safety practices, and deliver top-notch customer service across multiple areas, including but not limited to the clubhouse, parking lots, equipment, and select grounds areas.

Required Skills

  1. Friendly, positive, dependable and punctual.
  2. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a successful team while accomplishing tasks and assignments without assistance.
  3. Demonstrated ability to follow written instructions.
  4. Prior customer service, cart clean-up maintenance, and point of sale (POS)/cash handling, and computer/technology experience preferred.
  5. Demonstrated ability to relate to and work with people of all ages, races, and social-economic backgrounds.
  6. Valid Driver’s License
  7. Demonstrated use of tact, judgment and discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  8. Highly motivated and solution oriented with a high degree of integrity, ethics and dedication to the mission of the College.
  9. Must be adaptable and flexible to changes in tasks, processes and locations.
