Muskegon Community College has named Robert A. Dubault as its 2026 Distinguished Alumni Award recipient, recognizing his outstanding professional achievement and leadership in the legal field. It is the highest honor the college bestows upon a MCC graduate.
Dubault serves as executive partner of the Muskegon office of Warner Norcross + Judd LLP, where he leads operations for one of the firm’s nine offices across Michigan. A labor and employment attorney with nearly 30 years of experience, he counsels public- and private-sector employers across a broad range of industries, including automotive, health care, higher education, manufacturing, and financial services.
“Knowing personally, or by reputation, several of the individuals who have previously been recognized with this honor, it is truly humbling,” Dubault said.
Known as a trusted advisor, Dubault represents clients in complex matters involving employment discrimination, workplace harassment, ADA and FMLA compliance, collective bargaining, and labor arbitration, consistently earning a reputation for professionalism, integrity, and practical problem-solving.
In 2023, Dubault was named among Michigan Lawyers Weekly’s “Leaders in the Law,” an honor recognizing attorneys who demonstrate excellence and leadership in Michigan’s legal community. He has also been recognized by Best Lawyers in America as Lawyer of the Year in labor law and has been listed by the publication since 2010.
Beyond his practice, Dubault is deeply engaged in community and professional service, serving on the boards of the Employers Association of West Michigan and the Muskegon Museum of Art, where he chairs both the Collections and Personnel committees.
Through his career and community leadership, Dubault exemplifies the distinction and service celebrated by MCC’s Distinguished Alumni Award.
“What I have come to learn in my 30-plus-year legal career working with MCC and with West Michigan employers generally is how broad and how deep MCC’s impact is,” Dubault said. “It is clear how much they care about their students, how much they respect and support one another, and how they strive to ensure that MCC is a vital part of the overall Muskegon and West Michigan communities.”
