MCC Opens Doors for Esports Showdown

Muskegon Community College is inviting gamers of all skill levels to compete, connect, and celebrate the growing world of competitive gaming at its upcoming Esports Tournament on Saturday, May 9, 2026. Open to anyone age 16 and older, the event welcomes both MCC students and members of the public for an afternoon of competition, prizes, and community.
The tournament will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Room 3306 of the Stevenson Center on MCC’s main campus, located at 221 S. Quarterline Road. Participants will have the chance to win prizes, earn trophies, enjoy complimentary pizza, and pick up MCC swag. Free parking is available in the East Parking Lot, located one block north of the main parking area on Quarterline Road. Advance registration is required by Tuesday, May 5.
“Esports continue to grow at a rapid pace, and the skill level of today’s players is truly impressive,” said MCC Esports Head Coach Brandon Smith. “The competition is exciting to be part of, but it’s just as fun to watch. Even those who aren’t competing will be amazed by the level of talent on display.”
