Muskegon Airport Director to Keynote Veterans Day Ceremony

Friday, October 31, 2025

Muskegon Community College (MCC) and local veteran service organizations will host the annual Veterans Salute on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at 2:00 PM, to honor and pay tribute to military veterans for their courage, sacrifice, and service to our nation. The ceremony will take place at the MCC Health and Wellness Center, located at 221 S. Quarterline Road in Muskegon, and is free and open to the public.

This year’s keynote address will be delivered by Muskegon County Airport Director and MCC alumni, Ken Efting. Having served for over 20 years in the United States Airforce, Efting will share his thoughts on the enduring importance of Veterans Day and the continued need to honor those who have worn the uniform of our nation’s armed forces.
The ceremony will include a Rifle Salute, Taps and reflections on service, sacrifice, and community. Light refreshments will be served following the program.

“At Muskegon Community College, we proudly stand with our veterans—today and every day,” said MCC President Dr. John Selmon. “Their courage and dedication continue to inspire us, and this annual event reminds us of the deep gratitude we owe to those who have served and protected our freedoms.”

MCC invites all community members to come together for this meaningful occasion and join in honoring the men and women who have selflessly served our country.
