New Jayhawks Basketball Coach Returns Home to Lead Program

Monday, June 8, 2026

Muskegon Community College is proud to announce the hiring of Brady Flynn as the new Head Men’s Basketball Coach for the Jayhawks program.

Flynn returns to West Michigan after serving as Associate Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Crowley’s Ridge College (CRC), where he helped guide the Pioneers to one of the most successful stretches in program history.

During his tenure, CRC earned its first winning season since joining the NAIA in 2017 and made an American Midwest Conference postseason appearance. Flynn played a key role in recruiting, player development, and the advancement of multiple all-conference student-athletes.

For Flynn, the opportunity to lead the Jayhawks represents a homecoming.

“It means everything,” Flynn said. “I took the job on the spot. I didn’t have to think about it. To have the opportunity to come back here and coach, because it’s where I’m from, it is just an amazing feeling.”

A native of Schoolcraft, Michigan, Flynn said his connection to the region and its student-athletes made MCC an ideal fit.

“I have a passion about the kids in West Michigan because that was me not too long ago,” Flynn said. “So, I know that there’s talent in the area. However, after seeing MCC in person, and the facilities here, I mean, it’s got to be one of the best campuses, best facilities in Region 12, in the NJCAA region. I couldn’t be more ecstatic to be here.”

Prior to CRC, Flynn served on staff at Shorter University (Ga.) from 2021-2023 as an assistant coach and junior varsity head coach. There, he helped launch the school’s first junior varsity basketball program during the Division II era and guided the JV Hawks to a winning record in their inaugural season.

Flynn began his collegiate coaching journey at Liberty University (Va.), where he worked as a student manager for the Liberty Women’s Basketball program from 2019-2021. During his time with the Lady Flames, Liberty compiled a 39-19 overall record during that stretch and captured the 2019-20 ASUN Conference Co-Championship.
