The Overbrook Players launch their 2013-14 season with the production of Moliere’s 1669 comic farce that was banned by the French King Louis XIV after its very first performance. The play is about a gullible aging family man whose entire life is thrown into utter chaos by a religious fraud and imposter named Tartuffe. Moliere’s famous, biting satire of false piety fits well with this year’s Muskegon Area Arts and Humanities Festival (AhFest) theme of “Faith and Reason.”

The Tartuffe cast, all MCC students, includes: Deanna Runions, Leanne Fessler, Michael Pollock, Victoria Grant, Dustin Day, Tayler Zuidema, Dakotah Salazar, Tre Perry, Thomas Grand, Sydney Hansen, Austin Howard, and Dakota King.

Tom Harryman directs with designs by Susan Eyler, Sheila Kulp Wahamaki, Brian Goodman, Clyde Sheets, and Harryman.  Melissa Macomber is the student assistant director/stage manager.
