The Jayhawk Women’s Basketball team lost a road game to the JV team at Calvin University, 65-54.
The Jayhawks struggled right from the opening tip to pick to get into their offensive rhythm. Calvin outscored MCC 21-14 in the 1st quarter but the Jayhawks cut into the lead and trailed by 4 going into half time. They continued to to be sluggish on offense throughout the 2nd half and Calvin was consistent throughout for the win. “Our intensity was a factor throughout the game,” said Coach Jason Cooper. “Calvin was the aggressors on the court; we are still working out the kinks.” Arrionna Williams (Reeths-Puffer) led the scoring with 18 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals. Ty’veonna Davis (Muskegon) scored 14 points and Remi Sponseller (Farwell) added 12 points and 5 boards. Alexis McMahon (Ravenna) grabbed a team high 8 rebounds.
