The Jayhawk Baseball Team lost twice to Northampton Community College, 11-1 and 4-0.

Gerrit Lyyski (Spring Lake) took the loss in game 1 for the Jayhawks; the southpaw worked 1 inning, allowing 6 runs, 4 earned on 4 hits, striking out 2, and walking 2. Hunter Carrington (Buchanan) pitched three innings in relief for the Jayhawks. The righty allowed 1 hit and 5 runs, 4 earned while striking out 2 and walking 3. Brock Thornton (Coldwater) and Tanner Tresemer (Zeeland East) each collected 2 hits, while Nate Lovell (Tri County) had the only RBI.

Javonni Johnson (Mona Shores) took the loss for the Jayhawks in game 2. The starting pitcher went 6 1/3 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits with 5 strike outs and 2 walks. Brandon Butkus (Allendale) set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading the Jayhawks with 2 hits in 3 at-bats. The Jayhawks turned two double plays in the game.

MCC is 1-4 on the early season and they continue their spring trip schedule with games on Wednesday, 3/6.
