New Social Media Class Offered

Students who take the area’s first-ever, college-level Social Media class beginning Jan. 9 will learn marketable skills desired by a majority of today’s employers, said Instructor Maria Andersen. “This is a course not only designed to help you understand the issues around social media but to establish yourself as someone who can use social media well.”

“Our beloved planetarium has been serving the community well for nearly 40 years, but it’s beginning to show its age and the facility is in dire need of renovation,” explained MCC President Dale K. Nesbary. “Spare parts for its aging equipment are no longer available, while technological advances are rendering some of the shows obsolete. We want to make sure this valuable community resource remains available, so last year our Foundation launched the ‘Reach for the Stars’ campaign.”

The College seeks the community’s feedback on its recently released 2010-11 Annual Report highlighting MCC’s academic programs, student and faculty achievements, and initiatives. “The 2010-2011 Annual Report details the wide array of ways that MCC had adapted our academic and co-curricular programs and developed new opportunities that anticipate emerging trends,” said MCC President Dale K. Nesbary.
