Family Fun Activities Set for Muskegon Lake Shoreline June 2
The Third Annual MCC Community Family Fest returns to the Muskegon Lake shoreline on Saturday, June 2, when residents of all ages can enjoy fun and educational activities. The event, which is free and open to the public, runs from noon to 3 p.m. at the MCC Lakeshore Fitness Center, 900 W. Western Ave., in Muskegon.
“We invite the community to stop by and enjoy free food, a variety of activities, great entertainment and to experience our Lakeshore Fitness Center,” said Trynette Lottie-Harps, dean of community outreach at the college. “We want our community to visit our new locations downtown, learn about our programs and connect with our staff. We’ve had great support throughout the years and we feel honored to be able to share what we’ve done and what we’re doing at MCC.”
Among the fun activities scheduled for the youngsters are bouncy houses, train rides, face painting, make-and-take crafts, games, chalk art, karate demonstrations, gaga ball, and much more.
The whole family can participate in fitness center tours, family-friendly Pilates and Zumba exercises, a Fit Walk, fowling which cosines football and bowling. cardio-drumming Pound, hula hoops, a human knot, onsite body scans, and an appearance by Jayhawk, the MCC mascot.
There will be a picnic with free food and live music. Everyone can board the trolley that will make a loop to the college’s new Sturrus Technology Center, where tours will be offered as well as fun activities in the Lakeshore Fab Lab.
