MCC Celebrates International Education Week Nov 17- 20

MCC will celebrate International Education Week with a series of free events, including two panel discussions featuring international students and local Ebola experts, respectively, as well as a festive reunion of MCC German exchange students from the past two decades.

A joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education, International Education Week promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences in the U.S.

On Wednesday Nov. 19, local experts will discuss “Ebola: What You Should Know” beginning at 6 p.m. in Stevenson Center Room 1100. Dr. Andy Wible, instructor of philosophy and director of the Ethics Institute at MCC, will serve as the moderator. The panelists include: Dr. Bruce Olson, Infectious Disease Specialist and Medical Director at Mercy Health in Muskegon; Rachel McDermott, RN, Health System Educator at North Ottawa Community Health System; Papa N’Jai, Instructor of Anthropology and Geography at Muskegon Community College; and David Ogren, Paramedic and MCC student.
