Panel to Discuss Lasting Impact of 1968

A panel discussion of “50 Years of ’68: The Year that Rocked a Century” will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 6 p.m. in Stevenson Center Room 1100.  The event is free and open to the public.

“As 2018 ends, we look back fifty years to 1968 which stands out in time as a giant and turbulent year, the major events of the era, the enduring influences and continuing relevance of these issues,” said Nicholas Budimir, MCC sociology instructor and panel moderator.

The panelists and topics are:

  • David Bransdorfer, Lawyer, Columbia University undergrad ’79, Campus movements and Student Protests
  • Gretchen Cline, MCC English and Women’s Studies, The Miss America Pageant Protest and Women’s Liberation
  • Evin Rodkey, MCC Anthropology, Frank Zappa and Pop Culture
  • Nicholas Budimir, MCC Sociology, Introduction: Memphis, Prague and Paris.
