The Muskegon Community College Men’s Basketball team lost to nationally ranked Mott Community College, 64-62 in the final game of the Round Ball Classic.
The injury bug continues to bother the Jayhawks; no sooner do they work somebody back into the lineup then they lose a different starter. This time it was their season leading scorer Jadakiss Lewis (Kalamazoo Central) to a leg injury. The team battled through the adversity and gave Mott their closest game of the season with a total team contribution from start to finish. The Jayhawk’s Ben Clark (Potter’s House) was able to tie the game with 6 seconds to play, but Mott hustled the ball up the floor and scored at the buzzer for the win. Clark led the Jayhawks scorers with 16 points and 7 rebounds. Kaden George (Spring Lake) finished with 14 points and Tate Stine (Montague) had a steady all around game with 9 points, 6 assists and 4 rebounds.
MCC (4-7) will enjoy some time off for the Holidays before returning to action at St. Clair County Community College on Friday-Saturday, 1/5-1/6.
