The Jayhawk Softball Team completed the sweep of Bay College, winning the opener 5-0 and then finishing with a 16-3 (5 innings) victory in game 2.
Brooklyn Galdeen (Oakridge) got the start on the mound in game 1. She threw a complete game shutout, giving up 7 hits with 4 strikeouts and no walks. Jasmine Pastor (Oakridge) had a home run and 3 RBI and Willo Staal (Fruitport), Lilli Goodrich (Ludington) and Illeana Hatch (Whitehall) each added a hit.
In game 2 Hannah Aldred (Grand Haven) got the win in the run rule game as she worked 4 innings of 3 hit softball. Willo Staal worked the last inning with 2 strikeouts. Pastor stayed hot; she was 3-4 with a double and a homerun good for 4 RBI. Staal was also 3-4 with a double and homerun and Goodrich was 3-4.
MCC is 4-0 in conference play and 9-7 overall. They return to the field with a home game on Tuesday, 4/2 when they host Lansing Community College starting at 3:00 pm.
