Annual MCC Holiday Concert Dec. 4 at Orchard View High School

MCC Holiday Concert

The annual Muskegon Community College Holiday Concert will be held on Sunday, Dec. 4, at Orchard View High School. Admission to the concert, which begins at 3 p.m., is $5 per person and free for all students. The event features performances by MCC’s Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, the Collegiates, the Jaywalkers and the College Singers.

The Wind Ensemble, conducted by Daniel M. Meyers, will perform selections from “The Polar Express” arr. by Jerry Brubaker, “The Eighth Candle” by Steve Reisteter, and “Christmas Eve Sarajevo 12/24” arr. by Bob Phillips and George Megaw.

The Collegiates, directed by Thomas Clark and accompanied by Cheryl Lohman, will sing “Ave Maria” by Franz Biebl.

The College Singers, directed by Thomas Clark and accompanied by Dr. Solee-Lee Clark, will sing “African Noel” by Andre J. Thomas, “In Virtutue Tua” by Grzegorz G. Gorczycki arr. By William Bausano, “O Come, Emmanuel” by Elaine Hagenberg, and “Let the River Run” by Carly Simon arr. by Craig Hella Johnson.

The Jaywalkers, directed by Thomas Clark, will sing “Silent Night” by Franz Gruber arr. by Pentatonix, and “Mary Did You Know” by Pentatonix arr. by Daniel Roberts.

The Jazz Ensemble, directed by Tim Froncek, will play “Zoot Suit Riot” arr. by Paul Murtha, “Low Rider” arr. by John Berry, and “Hot Chocolate” arr. by Mike Lewis.

MCC’s Flute Quartet and Saxophone Quartet will perform selections. The combined College Singers and Wind Ensemble will conclude with “Hallelujah Chorus” by G.F. Handel arr. by Claire W. Johnson.
