College Hires New Lead for Center for Teaching and Learning

Dr. Megan Lockard, MCC’s new Coordinator for the Center for Teaching & Learning/Instructional Designer

Muskegon Community College (MCC) is proud to introduce Dr. Meg Lockard as the new Coordinator for the Center for Teaching & Learning/Instructional Designer. The Center for Teaching & Learning stands as a pivotal office at MCC, dedicated to supporting faculty members in crafting effective curriculum to ensure student success. 

Lockard, with extensive teaching experience from Grand Valley State University, MCC, and Grand Rapids Community College, holds a BA in Writing from GVSU, an MA in English Literature from GVSU, and a Ph.D. in Curriculum & Instruction from New Mexico State University. Her diverse professional journey has led her to this new position at MCC, where she aims to expand her pedagogical work.

During her free time, Lockard can be found hiking, tending to her compost and gardens, traveling, spending time with her two sons, delving into home remodel projects, and engaging in all West Michigan has to offer. 

MCC offers over 80 areas of study including environmental science, geology, and other sciences. In addition, the college provides a variety of community resources including a planetarium, natural area, science museum, health and wellness center, art gallery, and golf course.
