FMCC Jayhawk Scramble Raises $12,850 for Scholarships

The Foundation for Muskegon Community College 2014 Jayhawk Scramble on June 13 at University Park Golf Course raised $12,850 for MCC scholarships thanks to generous and enthusiastic sponsors, benefactors and participants. Their support will increase access to higher education and help local students achieve their dreams. At the luncheon, four MCC student scholarship recipients – James Hendricks, Shelinda Davenport, Kathy Davis, and Sierra Johnson – shared how their scholarships created educational opportunities that transformed their lives.

In addition to supporting student success, everyone had a great time at MCC’s golf course. The MOS team of Jon Fennell, Ken LeBuda, Randy Lindquist, and Ralph Slider finished 13-under par to take first place. Golfing expertise was also displayed by several award winners: closest to the pin – Nancy Crandall and Brian Elkenberry; longest drives – Hailey Mabrito and Levi Byker; and putting contest winner – Ken LeBuda. Jason Miller was the lucky winner of The Ultimate Golfing Experience – 26 rounds of golf at eight local courses!
