The Muskegon Community College Wind and Jazz Ensembles will perform on Wednesday, Oct. 23, at 7:30 p.m. in the Overbrook Theater. The concert is free and open to the public.
The Wind Ensemble, led by Daniel M. Meyers, the MCC director of music, will perform four selections:
“Enchanted Spaces” by Samuel R. Hazo
“English Folk Song Suite” by Ralph Vaughn Williams
“Salvation” by Robert W. Smith; and
“The Black Horse Troop” by John Phillip Sousa
Following a brief intermission, the MCC Jazz Ensemble, directed by MCC adjunct instructor Tim Froncek, will present five numbers:
"Theme from Sesame Street” arr. Denis DiBlasio
“Blues March” arr. Terry White
“Pick Up The Pieces” arr. Mark Taylor
“Fast Forward” by Howard Rowe; and
"Jive Samba” arr. Alan Baylock.
