Money Matters Fair Coming to MCC on Nov, 7

MCC will host the Money Matters Fair on Wednesday, Nov. 7, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Collegiate Hall.

“The purpose of the Money Matters Fair is to raise awareness about financial literacy,” said Sandy Ring, Director the Student Life Office at MCC. “It’s as important as learning about English, Math and Science. We want our students to understand how the economy works and to develop necessary skills to manage personal finances.”

MCC has partnered with PNC Bank and other financial institutions to present the fair. Other agencies expected to participate include: First General Credit Union, Citizens Bank, City of Grand Haven Neighborhood Housing Services, Bank of America, Goodwill, Muskegon-Oceana Affordable Housing Initiatives, and Love Inc. of Muskegon.

“It is critical for educators and community agencies to combine efforts to increase cognizance of financial literacy and of the agencies in our community that are available to help,” Ring concluded.
